The purpose of this section is to make accessible data sets we used in our research.

First, the Berlin parliamentarian data set that was used in Robert Rohrschneider. 1999. Learning Democracy. Oxford University Press. The codebook is here (Codebook1992) (PDF); the data set here (zip).

Second, the Rohrschneider/Whitefield expert-level data set provides indicators for a range of party positions. The data (zip) set, along with the codebook (doc), constitute the basis for our book The Strain of Representation. How Parties Represent Diverse Voters in Western and Central-Eastern Europe. Oxford: Oxford University Press (2012).

Third, together with Nick Clark, we will make available parts of the Kansas Eurobarometer Representation File. Eventually, this data set pools all representation related indicators contained in Eurobarometer surveys 1990-2008. We will soon make available the earlier years and, after completion of a dissertation based on this data set, eventually the entire file. Please contact us if you would like to have access to some of the data.
